My Philosophy

Applying to college is hard. I can make that process easier for you, by showing you how best to present yourself. You deserve the best chance possible at your dream schools.
I’ll comb through every paragraph of your essays; help you find the right word, the right sentence structure, the right framing for each of your ideas. I’ll distill those extracurriculars you loved so much in high school—orchestra, chemistry club, swim team—into efficient, compelling 150-character summaries for the CommonApp Activities list.
Finally, through discussions about your interests and passions, I’ll guide you through the most important decisions of all: what to study, and where to apply.

About Us

My name is Andrew, and I just graduated from Yale College. Throughout my last three years working as an independent college consultant, I’ve helped numerous students get into their top-choice schools, including Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and more. My clients regard me highly as an advisor and an editor.
Although I mostly work alone, I rely on a strong network of contacts at other universities—Harvard, MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford, NYU, Princeton, Dartmouth, UChicago, and more—to answer any questions about programs elsewhere.
Besides my work, I attempt to do cool, interesting, funny, or useful things. Here are some examples of things that I do, or that I've done:
  • Run camps like WARP, ESPR, and SPARC;
  • Serve on the editorial board of the AMC 10/12 exams;
  • Play piano pieces written by Holden Mui (the coolest composer I know!);
  • Write high-level math problems, most recently for the USAMTS, and previously for journals like the AMM;
  • Write grant applications for nonprofit organizations;
  • Sing with Hangarak, Yale’s first and only Korean-language acapella group;
  • Direct MMATHS and Girls in Math, math competitions with hundreds of participants from around the world;
  • Arrange piano covers of popular songs;
  • and more!

Our Commitment to Altruism

In 2021, one of our clients wrote a wonderful personal statement about their efforts to fight food insecurity: working at a food bank, knocking on doors to raise money, coordinating volunteers throughout multiple cities.
Inspired by their essay, we’ve made a significant commitment to doing good. The world is full of pressing problems: climate change, poverty, and AI risk, to name a few. As such, we donate 20% of all our profits—10% to charities chosen by our clients, and 10% to organizations working on combating malaria, reducing carbon emissions, providing direct relief to those in need, and more.
